Cure for Cancer Giveback: Geraldine PadillaThe Human Bean – 5:30am – 7pm – The Human Bean is happy to announce Geraldine Padilla for our Cure for Cancer giveback on October 18th! 100% of proceeds this day will go straight to Geraldine to help with medical bills and so forth! Geraldine is a Valencia County Native who has Stage 4 bone cancer. Outside of getting chemo treatment Geraldine’s favorite thing is spending time with her grandchildren. She wouldn’t change that for the world!

Arts and Crafts Show – 9am – 3pm – First Presbyterian Church of Belen – The annual First Presbyterian Church of Belen’s Arts & Crafts Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19, at the church, 85 Manzano Expressway, Rio Communities. This event will feature a large variety of arts, crafts, and holiday items, as well as a raffle for an incredible master craftsman turned wood creation and a beautiful group project quilt.

Live Music @ the Belen Public Library – 10am – 12pm – Belen Public Library – Noblin Funeral Service presents Live Music @ the Belen Public Library from 10am – 12pm on Friday, October 18, Friday, November 15, Friday, December 20. These will be free and open to the public. Cultural enhancement for Valencia County Elders.

Miniature Show at Tomé Art Gallery – 10am – 5pm – Tomé Art Gallery – Tomé Art Gallery will hold its Miniature Show from Oct. 6 through Nov. 6 at the gallery, 2930 N.M. 47, in Tomé. The gallery, 2930 N.M. 47, Tome, is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.

Adult Wellness Fair – 10am – 2pm – Rio Communities City Hall – The Rio Communities Wellness Council, in partnership with St. Anthony’s Home Healthcare, invites the public to participate in its annual Adult Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18, at the Rio Communities City Hall, 360 Rio Communities Blvd.. The Wellness Fair will focus on senior adults, and an effort to improve community health. Talk with health care professionals, get your flu shots and receive CPR training.

Belen Farmers’ Market – 4:30pm – 7pm – Anna Becker Park – Come out and support our local farmers! Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available at the Belen farmers market.

Halloween Hootenanny – Ongoing – Ka-Hoon Plateau Hame De Colquhoun – Celebrate Halloween with movies, live bands, talent show, karaoke, Creepy Camp Crawl, scavenger hunt, costume contest, bonfires, and more! Enjoy a non-alcoholic, 420-friendly kid area with activities suitable for all ages.

Circle T Presents October Trivia (Disney Themed) – 6:15pm – Circle T Burger – 8 Rounds & 80 Questions
Come dressed in a Disney or Pixar costume to get an extra 10 points in the game!

Saturday, October 19th

Pancakes & Planes – 7:30am – 10:30am – Belen Regional Airport – We’d like to extend an invitation to all to join us Saturday morning, October 19, 2024, for Pancakes and Planes at Belen Regional Airport. This is a free breakfast event in appreciation to our loyal customers, airport tenants, the flying community and as a chance for our community to see and enjoy their local airport. The pancake breakfast will be served from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM, or as long as the food supplies hold out. Our sincerest thanks to all for making Belen Regional Airport the success that it is.

Rummage Sale – 8am – 11am – First United Methodist Church – The First United Methodist Church Women of Faith Seekers is having a rummage sale from 8-11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at the church, 75 Manzano Expressway, Rio Communities.

Blue Star Mothers of Valencia County Meeting – 9am – Daniel D. Fernandez Memorial Park – The Blue Star Mothers of Valencia County meets at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month at Daniel D. Fernandez Memorial Park in Los Lunas. Tell them about your service, family members, or friends’ military service so they can add them to their mailing list. 2nd Annual Belen Barker Rally – 9am – 4pm – Smokal Smoke Local – Join the shelter and SMOKAL for another amazing event. It’s the 2nd annual Belen Barker Rally. We will have a great selection of animals available for adoption. This is a sponsored event. Also, bring down your pets for the costume contest. All pets must be on a leash!

Capt. Tamara Long-Archuleta Memorial Open Karate Championship – 10am – 5pm – Belen High School Auditorium – The 17th annual Capt. Tamara Long-Archuleta Memorial Open Karate Championships will be held beginning at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Belen High School gymnasium.

Historic Tomé Jail and Casita Open to the Public – 11am – 3pm – Historic Tomé Jail – The town of Tomé Land Grant invites the public to visit the historic jail and casita at the Tomé Church Plaza, 18 Church Loop. Visitors are welcomed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday.
