Weekend Events June 12th – 14th


Whew! This is one hot summer! We’ve assembled some awesome activities to help you beat the heat this weekend! Check them out and if you know of an event that isn’t listed here, let us know!

Friday, July 12th

Special Orchestra Performance – Belen Public Library – 3:00pm – 4:30pm – The Valencia County chapter of the New Mexico Special Orchestra performs on the second Friday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave. in Belen.

Belen Farmer’s Market – Anna Becker Park – 4:30pm – 7pm – Come out and support our local farmers! Fresh fruits and vegetables will be available at the Belen farmers market.

Saturday, July 13th

Music Saturdays in the Desert – Ka-Hoon Plateau Hame De Colquhoun – 12pm – Music Saturday takes place on the second Saturday of each month throughout the summer. Just 42 miles south of Albuquerque, in the middle of nowhere, come camp, play, and enjoy live music under the beautiful New Mexico skies!

American Legion Post 81 Officer Installation and Luncheon – Secundino Baldonado American Legion Post 81 – 12pm – Join Post 81 as we introduce to the membership the newly elected officers for 2024-2025. We will be Conducting Installation of Officers for the Auxiliary, S.A.L. and Legion Riders. We will also be conducting a Post Everlasting Ceremony for Fallen Past Members. A luncheon will be provided after. Members and Bona-Fide Guest, Please come join us

VCAN Open Meeting – Meadowlake Community Center – 3pm – 5pm – The Valencia Community Action Network, a local nonprofit, will hold an open meeting from 3-5 p.m. on the second Saturday of the month at the Meadow Lake Community Center, 100 Cuerro Lane.

Starry Night Sunflowers Paint Party – Hub City Brewing Company – 5:30pm – 8pm – If you are thinking about attending a Paint Party, this is going to be a good one!!! Starry Nights with Sunflowers by #paintpartiesbynancy and Hub City Brewing Company right here in Belen! July 13th, 5:30 pm, Step-by-step instructions and all supplies are included. Brews are extra, but Summer drinks are available to keep you cool! Don’t wait until July to sign up or there will be no seats left! Family Night – Rio Grande Fire House – 5:30pm – 7pm – The Rio Communities Fire Department Auxiliary is inviting the public for a family night from 5:30-7 p.m., Saturday, July 13, at the fire station, 108 Rio Communities Blvd., for family entertainment, such as board and card games, with a tostada meal with Spanish rice, dessert and a drink, for a $5 donation.

Sunday, July 14th

Historic Tomé Jail and Casita Open to the Public – Historic Tomé Jail – 11am – 3pm – The town of Tomé Land Grant invites the public to visit the historic jail and casita at the Tomé Church Plaza, 18 Church Loop. Visitors are welcomed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday.

Customer Appreciation Day – Tomé Gallery – Tomé Gallery – 1pm – 4pm – Free ice cream! Free hot dogs! Free balloons!
