Weekend Events November 22nd – 24th


As we all get ready for next week’s Thanksgiving celebrations, there are fewer events and activities in the Hub City this weekend. The options are great though! There’s a grand re-opening for a beloved local business, the Belen Public Library has programming options on Friday and Saturday, and you won’t want to miss Whitfield Under the Stars on Friday night! Check out all of the events below.

Friday, November 22nd

Roadrunner Pit Stop Grand Re-Opening – 2pm – 6pm – Roadrunner Pit Stop – Thank you to all our wonderful customers that have been supporting Roadrunner Pit Stop for the past 16 years!!! We proudly announce the GRAND re-opening of The Roadrunner Pit Stop!! Come and enjoy samples, giveaways and entertainment on Saturday and Sunday!!

Rocks of the Rio Grande – 3:30pm – Belen Public Library – Families are invited to join us in learning about Rocks of the Rio Grande Valley! This event will involve hands-on learning about the different kinds of rocks and the types of rocks in the Rio Grande Valley….including luminescent rocks! We’ll then be cracking open geodes!

Whitfield Under the Stars – 5pm – 8pm – Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area – Friday, November 22nd from 5pm – 8pm you can join Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area for Whitfield Under the Stars. There will be a live owl presentation at 5pm and at dark, a Night Sky Talk. You can come along as we walk you through the sprawling wonder of the night sky. This event is free and will be held weather permitting, at Whitfield Wildlife Conservation Area 2424 Hwy 47, Belen, NM 87002

Saturday, November 23rd

Roadrunner Pit Stop Grand Re-Opening – 9am – 3pm – Roadrunner Pit Stop – Thank you to all our wonderful customers that have been supporting Roadrunner Pit Stop for the past 16 years!!! We proudly announce the GRAND re-opening of The Roadrunner Pit Stop!! Come and enjoy samples, giveaways and entertainment on Saturday and Sunday!!

Free Guitar Lessons – 10am – 12pm – Belen Public LibraryGuitars are available for children to use during the lessons. Guitar lessons are offered at 10 a.m. every Saturday at the Belen Public Library. Lessons are also free and open to the public, ages 5-15. Guitars are available for children to use during the lessons, and to check-out so they can practice at home.

Sunday, November 24th

Historic Tomé Jail and Casita Open to the Public – 11am – 3pm – Historic Tomé Jail – The town of Tomé Land Grant invites the public to visit the historic jail and casita at the Tomé Church Plaza, 18 Church Loop. Visitors are welcomed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday.
